Armenian schools in Akhaltsikhe district were forbidden to take part in the activities of the memory

On April 23 the managers of all Armenian schools in villages and in city of Akhaltsikhe were invited to the Akhaltsikhe Resource Center. Managers, who arrived to the Resource Center, were strictly forbidden to take part during the lesson hours in the Liturgy for the victims and in mourning in commemoration of the Armenian Genocide on April 24th. In previous years they took part in them without any obstacles.

A few days ago a few feachers of the Hovhannes Toumanian public school in Akhaltskha with approval of the manager appealed to the Akhaltskha municipality, asking that they this year,
as always, participate in activities organized by the city in commemoration of the Armenian Genocide.

It should be noted that in all the years of independence of Georgia is the first time in schools of Javakhk participation in the liturgy for the dead and mourning in commemoration of the Armenian Genocide is prohibited.
